Leaftail Exotics started in 2006 as a private breeding project for dart frogs. Two decades later we raise reptiles, amphibians, rare aroids, tissue cultures, and gourmet fungi — all captive-bred or lab-propagated, never wild caught.
We document our husbandry the way a research lab documents an experiment. Every animal ships with its lineage. Every plant ships with its propagation method. Every care sheet is rev-controlled and reviewed annually. That's what "raised with science" means here — we keep records like a fieldwork notebook because that's how you actually learn what works.

Conservative shipping windows
Live arrival is non-negotiable. We ship Monday through Wednesday only, FedEx Priority Overnight, so nothing risks sitting in a warehouse over the weekend.

Shipping policy
Live animals do not handle weekend warehouse delays well, and we won't risk it. We hold orders for the next safe ship window and notify you when your shipment is set. Tracking is sent the morning of shipment. Someone must be present at the delivery address — packages cannot be left unattended.
Temperature holds
We don't ship if the forecast at either origin or destination falls outside species-safe temperature ranges. If a hold is required, we email you the day before the originally scheduled ship date and reschedule for the next safe window at no charge.

Every order is dropped at the FedEx World Service Center at 4220 N Atlantic Blvd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326, an authorized FedEx Express station in Oakland County, Michigan. We do not offer pickup.

Live arrival guarantee
Every live animal is covered by our guarantee. If a specimen arrives DOA, we replace or refund it — provided the following conditions are met:
- Someone is present to receive the package on the delivery date
- The temperature at delivery is within species-safe range (per the ship-day forecast on your order)
- You notify us with photos within 2 hours of delivery
- The original packaging is preserved for FedEx claim documentation
